About Cheltenham and Gloucester:
Cheltenham Spa is a large town in Gloucestershire, on the edge of the Cotswolds. A number of festivals are held here every year - Literature, Jazz, Science, Music - and it is famous for the Cheltenham Gold Cup steeplechase and Cheltenham Festival in March. It became popular in the late 1700's after King George III visited to take the waters. Regency architecture abounds, for example the building which houses Cheltenham Municipal Council Offices.
Gloucester is the county town of Gloucestershire and home to a number of fascinating structures. Gloucester Cathedral a magnificent building situated in the north of the City, has many claims to fame. Not only is it the burial place of Edward II of England, it has also been used as a film set for Harry Potter and Doctor Who.
